explanation from Demba

First of all, I want to reiterate that I remain a player of TSG Hoffenheim, I respect my club, and for over 3 ½ years i proved my love for this jersey for the club and our fans.
I know what I owe to the TSG 1899, they brought me in Germany and they believed in my potential, they helped me to improve and being a good player in the Bundesliga, for all of that, I thank them!
I also know that with my teammates and the support of our fans, I had the chance to give back a lot to my club by scoring a lot of goals and being a major player in the good performance of the team.
Today I am one of the oldest players in the team and due to my seniority, so I refuse to be treated like a mercenary or a capricious guy.
Regarding my performances with the club I had a lot of demand and a club made an offer to Hoffenheim. From there I had a talk with our sporting director, to discuss about my desire to cross one more step in my career and join the Premier League.
Recently, I dream to have a new challenge, and a club offered me the opportunity to achieve my dream. The sudden departure of the coach who brought me in the Bundesliga and helped me reach the level that is mine have increased my desire try something else.
I could not refuse this proposal, from the moment of course that my club gets what they deserve.
Both clubs have negotiated and an offer arrived on Hoffenheim's office. From there, all parties were expected to agree on the transfer.
I want to say that I regret this situation, and I suffer from it. The club gave me a green light to leave under certain conditions, which have been met; I hope that the promises made will be fulfilled.
I don't force anyone to the club, who am I to do it? I just ask the club to stick to its word, and authorize a transfer.
My name is dragged through the mud for a few days now but there is no reference to the numerous proposals that I have refused to stay faithful to my club and grow with my team.
In the career of a player there are cycles, and sometimes you have to change to progress. I think the time has come for me. Although I will never forget the 1899 Hoffenheim, my teammates and all the fans for all the happiness they gave me.
I just want to ask my club to be honest and to respect the green light that I was given, I know that the president is someone we can count on.
People who know me know that I refuse conflict, I am a straight person who is primarily a football fan. I always gave the best of myself on and off the field.
Therefore I hope that those who read me will understand my position and I especially hope that Hoffenheim will help me to find a fair solution so this situation is resolved quickly.
Sincerely
Demba BA »

I definitely understand your reasons und the TSG has broken its word. Thus, you are right to question the honesty and reliability of the club... I would not want to work for a company that doesn't worship their best performer...
BUT:
Do you reallly think it is the appropraite way to stay away from training? I mean, what kind of immature image of you creates that in the whole world??
Think about your future and your standing...
What do you say?
Best wishes from Germany,
Jan

but all-in-all it's not correct and not a good idea to miss the trainings camp.
You desert your team colleagues.
You can leave but you have to do your work until then.
Regards,
Thomas

I can completely understand that you want to cross one more step in your career and I wish you the best for your future!
You did well to publish your point of view.. sometimes the media doesn't show both sides.
I hope to see you again one time in the Champions League!

now i can understand a little bit, i know what you did for Hoffenheim in your 3,5 years and you should be proud of this :) but i think you made a mistake to leave Hoffenheim like this.. what is with your team mades. you did the same thing 1 or 2 years before, but Hoffenheim belived in you. so please do the right thing and do something good for your carrier, cause you have got the pontential to play in international cups and i understand you, when you want to leave the club, but not like this
i wich you luck on your road to the international buisniss;)

I appreciate you sharing this with us. I totally understand your point of view.
Right now you are Hoffenheims torch bearer. The club needs you now more than ever. When the time is right, the price is right and the club is perfect, you will make your highly anticipated exit.
Lookin forward to seeing you play alongside Drogba soon. In the meantime...its SINSHEIM Baaybeeee!!!

You did everything you could for Hoffenheim. Now you do have the same rights like Mr. Gustavo.
You are a free man in a free club, that is the message which was given by the club to Gustavo so it can be equaly seen for you.
Moreover you have the right to come to a democratic country like England!
May Hoffenheim set you free, you did not commit anything wrong.

I am a West Ham fan and would love to see you at Upton Park, we have a great atmosphere here and would be amazing to see you play football after all , us West Ham fans have been hearing about you being such a great player, Hoffenheim should respect your decision of wanting to play in the Premier League because we are the best league in the world.
Good Luck with the transfer
p.s. Your Agent said you love West Ham, so you better come to us :)

Mr. Hopp is not a Team-Player, he is a Business Player, so tsg is just another product.
It is all about the bugs and you are just the victim of this system.
Those guys just invest when they know there is a good return of their invests and higher. But sometimes it is not good to do the right thing, like you does now.
Sometimes you should keep your own future in mind, and therefore it is the best solution to slow down. One man against one team, thats impossible. You are a star and some young people will follow your actions in different ways. Keep your image clean. Good luck
PS: It was the best idea to blogg here, nobody can turn your words.

You have the right to move on as long as the club have agreed to it for you are under a contract. Anyway, do it the best way you can. Skipping training and arguing publicly with your bosses is bad for your image and career.
Take care,
Marc

i have alot of respect for you. football is a passionate job and it would be wrong for you not to further your career. a profession in any field needs to be tested, like any other job in the world, you want what's best for you, your family and your employers. I'm a west ham fan, and it's great to see a player of your calibre, who has a very good strike rate, to be linked with a club i cherish the most. in England we hear that you "love" west ham, if this is true then your very much welcome at the club from the off, if your show passion and hard work for 90mins every week... the fans and club will love you back. West Ham need some belief from some players outside the club, we are a good historic club looking to push forward and be a successful force in the league. we've been unlucky in our performances, the manager at the club in my opinion is not the right man, the club need a slaven bilic, martin o'neill, paolo di canio type manager who is enthusiastic on the side and someone who the players WANT to play for. apart from the manager, the club would benefit and you will benefit. West ham fans are the best in England, regardless what any other fans say, we're loyal, hard working and passionate... us fans would love to see someone in a claret and blue shirt on the same wave length as us.
i wish you luck in finding a club that will push and test your abilities... after all, who wants a job that you wouldn't enjoy going to day in day out.

I'm a massive west ham supporter and I just wanted to let you know that I would absolutely bloody love to have you at our proud club. I've seen you play a fair bit and i'm certain you would slot straight into our team, as well as improve those around you. And as long as you gave your all in every game, each one of our lads would love you. I truly believe that you could be a cult figure at our wonderful club. I hope all this rubbish sorts itself out and you end up at upton park.
Best wishes through a tough time.

I think it's good that you've shared your feelings. And although I don't agree with you staying away from training, I can understand your frustrations if Hoffenhiem have gone back on their word....Anyway, hopefully the situation will get cleared up soon and you will be free to join West Ham - the pride of London. Although we are struggling at the moment, we have the potential to become a major force again with a few new players who have quality and give absolutely everything while on the pitch. That's all the fans ask. So if you can do this and score a few goals too..you will become a hero in the East End of London.
Say ooh aah, Demba Ba, Say ooh aah Demba Ba :)

I have heard rumours linking you with West Ham United in the premier League via Sky Sports news.
I being an avid West Ham fan and desperately in need of a lift in morale, would welcome you ( along with tens of thousands of other fans ) to the West Ham family.
Of course there is controversy surrounding your move from Hoffenheim as it is clear that they may not want to lose you. Your fans love you there and also want to see you stay.
However, I think it is in the best interests of all parties ( Hoffenheim fottball club and it's fanbase and West Ham Utd football club and it's fanbase ) if you continue to train with your teammates. This will ensure that if you leave, you leave with your head held high and if you stay your head is still held high.
It is imperative that you remain professional through this difficult time and give 100 % to the team you are playing for. After all, it's the Hoffenhiem fans and the club that pay your wages at the moment.
I will keep my fingers crossed that everything works out well for you and that an agreement is reached that is conducive to both football clubs and yourself.
Before I end this message, please keep in mind that attitude is everything in football. Wayne Rooney displayed a complete lack of respect for both his club and his fans by what I would call "following the money" or looking for a big pay day transfer. He will never be shown the same respect again as a Manchester United Football player as a resul;t of his behaviour and he's a household name in football. Don't follow his example.

We want you to come to West Ham you will love it there the fans are so passionate I have seen the goals you score on video and you can be our next cult hero of Upton Park . Our league is so close this season a couple of wins could put us within striking distance of a European spot and your goals could get us there before the end of the season. Please come to West Ham Demba. WE WILL MAKE YOU MOST WELCOME

I am a lover of Hoffenheim. But I will respect any player who thinks he wants to change his club. It is better to be honest and say you want to move forward than to stay and don't give your best. You made the right decision.
I, however, didn't find it proper that you stayed out of training. You would have joined the team and wait for the outcome. Anyway, I am speaking like an outsider and you are the one who wears the shoe and knows bettter where it hurts.
I think the Hoffenheim management team is just out to destroy your career. I don't expect that from a team like that one. Why did the team sell some of its players and let the trainer go and THEY DON'T WANT TO LET YOU GO?
I find this one a personal issue to you. Although I love Hoffenheim, I don't support their action at all. HOFFENHEIM, LET THIS YOUNG GUY MOVE ON AND FIND NEW CHALLENGES
Comment by Tony Pulis | 2011-01-20
If you are a real player, you should join West Ham, a club with history and passion who play attacking passing football. Stoke are a still a lower league team with a small stadium and a poor style of play. London v Stoke? Not much of a choice really is it?
All the best
Tony Pulis

As I am sure you have seen that things are very close this season and my team, West Ham have not had a very good season, but things are very much changing, we are gaining financial stability, have an extremely good chance of playing in one of the newest stadiums in the country, we have a fantastic history, even though we do not have appeared to won many big trophies, we are definately a team that will continue to grow.
Our fans are amongst the most loyal and we love great football.
We hope to see you in our famous claret and blue in 2011
